Short summary
The site requires no account and does not collect names, emails or other contact details. The only information that leaves your browser is the place name you type in yourself in forecast mode, plus whatever Google's ad network collects if you've accepted cookies.
Place search and weather data
When you search for a place, the search text is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service to be converted into coordinates. The coordinates are then used to fetch a forecast from SMHI's open API. No search is linked to you as a person, and no searches are stored in any database of ours. The site never requests access to your device's GPS location.
Cookies and advertising
The site is funded by advertising. If you accept cookies in the consent banner, Google AdSense is loaded, which may set cookies to measure impressions and personalise ads. If you choose "Necessary only", no ad script is loaded at all and no ad cookies are set. Your choice is stored locally in your browser and is not sent to any server. Read more on the cookies page.
Legal basis
Processing of place searches is carried out on the basis of legitimate interest in being able to deliver the function you request. Ad cookies are processed solely on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
Recipients of data
The following third parties may process data when you use the site: Open-Meteo (geocoding), SMHI (forecast data), Google Ireland Limited (ad delivery, only with consent), and the site's web host, which logs technical data such as IP address for operation and security.
Retention period
We do not store any personal data in our own systems. Your cookie choice remains in the browser until you clear it. Third-party providers' retention periods are governed by their own terms.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY). Since we don't store identifiable data, there is in practice rarely anything to disclose, but you are always welcome to get in touch via the contact details.
Changes
The policy may be updated when features or providers change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
